Not all memory modules offer the same performance, most notably in the overclocking potential. As we saw today when we ran the G.Skill Ripjaws modules alongside some popular Corsair Dominator sticks in side-by-side comparisons at identical speeds and timings, the G.Skill Ripjaws modules quite simply performed better. The Corsair modules simply did not want to move much from their stock settings, both in terms of latency and speed, and this is clearly problematic for enthusiasts that want to stretch their system. The G.Skill Ripjaws, however, had no such issues and offered flexibility in both timings and speeds. |
